How does your service work?

Step 1: Create an account at Dormoo.com
Step 2: Sign-up for Dormoo A) Enter in how many boxes and other packing materials you need B) Enter in what large items you have (sofa, desk, etc.) C) Choose a pick-up date and time
Step 3: Box delivery: We deliver boxes, packing materials, and labels.
Step 4: Packing: Prior to pickup, you pack and seal your boxes and apply our provided sticker labels.
Step 5: Pickup: We come to your dorm room to pick up your stuff at the chosen date and time.
Step 6: Storage: We store your belongings in secure, climate-controlled storage over the summer.
Step 7: Delivery sign-up: Once you know, tell us where your fall housing will be, and choose a delivery date and time
Step 8: Delivery: We bring your belongings to your residence at your chosen date and time
Ordering
What if I want to change the specifics of my order?

You can change your order in your online account, or by calling us. During pickup, our pickup staff will confirm your order and any reductions will be refunded and additions will be charged accordingly.
What if I order more boxes than I use?

Dormoo will refund all costs for unused boxes. If you order 5 and you use 4, the box price for 1 box will be refunded.
Packing
Is there a weight limit for a box?

If a box exceeds 60lbs, we apply a 50% surcharge. 60lbs is quite a bit of weight for any of these boxes to support and for our moovers to carry. For really dense, heavy objects such as weight sets, please call customer care and we will accommodate you on an individual basis.
Where should I buy my packaging supplies?

We offer packaging supplies that can be added to your order. Refer to the next question on receipt of these supplies.
How do I receive my packaging supplies from Dormoo?

We bring all boxes and packing materials to your door on the PACKING DELIVERY DATE. An email will be sent to you with the exact delivery time window. If you aren’t at your door we will drop it off at your dorm’s office and leave you a notice.
Can I use my own boxes?

We highly recommend that you use our boxes because the boxes themselves are FREE!! If absolutely necessary you can use your own boxes and they will be priced based on Dormoo box size and pricing.
Storage
Do you have restrictions on the types of things that can be stored?

Hazardous materials, illegal items, liquids, and perishables are prohibited. We also strongly recommend that you do not store jewelry, cash, and other valuables. Fragile objects should be properly secured and padded in the boxes. For large fragile items such as mirrors, lamps, glass tabletops, please call customer care and we will accommodate you on an individual basis. For packing, please buy bubble wrap.
Can I store my computer and electronics?

Yes you can. Our storage facility is climate controlled, which is perfectly safe for all your electronic equipment. Make sue you pack with plenty of packing materials for extra cushioning.
What does climate-controlled mean?

Climate-controlled means that our storage facility maintains a safe temperature for your belongings and that the facility is properly ventilated. This does not mean the storage facility is air-conditioned.
What is the storage timeframe?

The main storage timeframe is between pickup and the main delivery phase, which is usually approximately 3.5 months. Belongings not delivered in the main delivery phase are stored until October 1st at which time are given away (to the thrift shop or Salvation Army).
Can I access my belongings during the storage timeframe?

Yes. With 72 hour notice, customers can contact customer care and arrange a time to access belongings at the storage facility at no charge.
Can part of the belongings be taken or shipped from the storage facility during the storage period?

In person, any and all of a student’s belongings can be taken from and returned to the storage facility at no charge. However, no money will be refunded for items taken. Items cannot be added. We can ship belongings to you at the standard shipping price (refer to pricing).
Pickup & Delivery
When will I be able to select a pickup and delivery time?

Customers can choose from a number of pickup and delivery time windows listed in the Pickup and Delivery sections of the website. Pickup occurs towards the end of the exam period and delivery occurs just prior to the beginning of fall classes. We will email customers who have not selected a pickup or delivery time immediately before pickup and delivery.
How does the pickup occur?

We will notify you prior to pickup via email. During the scheduled time window we come to your door, ensure that everything is packed and labeled properly, and make changes to the order if necessary. We then move all of your belongings to our trucks to be taken to the storage facility.
What if I can’t be present for a pickup or delivery?

A friend can represent your goods during the pickup and receive your goods during delivery.
What if the appointment is missed completely?

If you miss your window then we will contact you on re-scheduling on the “re-schedule” day. The “re-schedule” day is the last day of pickup at your school and is meant as an overflow day After the “re-schedule” day, we will contact you about scheduling a specific appointment and charges will be incurred (refer to pricing).
I live off-campus. Can you pick up and deliver my things?

Yes. Dormoo can pickup and deliver to off-campus locations for an additional charge of $20. Granville Towers and University Towers are considered on-campus for pickup and delivery.
Will you have extra boxes when you come to my room?

Yes, we will have extra boxes and packaging supplies on our trucks, but they will be limited.
When can I enter or change the delivery time and location?

You can enter or change delivery information anytime prior to the delivery period in the fall. A $35 charge will be added for late delivery signup or changes made to time and/or location, defined as 72 hours prior to the delivery period.
Shipping
How does your shipping service work?

At the same time we pickup belongings for storage we also pickup items to be shipped. We provide labels for you to fill out.
What destinations does your shipping service cover?

We can ship to anywhere in the United States. For shipping around the world, please contact us for details.
How much does shipping cost?

Can I ship furniture?

We can only ship boxes, luggage, trunks, or any other items that postal carriers allow.
Pricing & Payment
What do your box prices include?

Our box prices include pickup, storage, and fall delivery on a per item basis.
What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We can also process charges directly against your checking account through eCheck.
Do you accept cash?

Currently we do not accept cash.
When do I pay? Is there financing or a payment plan?

Payment occurs during the ordering process and you will be charged immediately. Students will have the option of paying all up front or paying half up front and half after the belongings reach storage securely. Changes to orders will incur immediate charges or refunds. Changes to scheduling, accessing items in storage, and all other special add-on services will be charged as they occur.
Can I cancel my service?

You can cancel your service at no charge prior to April 31st. On or between April 31st and May 3rd. you will incur a $35 charge which will be subtracted from your refund. After that, there is no refund.
